Employee Spotlight: Karen Hovater

In our Florence office, one of those people is Karen Hovater.

Karen joined the firm in July of 2020—right in the middle of a summer heat wave, when the office didn’t even have air conditioning. While that might have been enough to make anyone hesitate, Karen did the opposite.

She jumped right in.

From day one, she showed the kind of attitude that defines great teams—rolling up her sleeves, working alongside everyone else, and doing whatever needed to be done to keep things moving.

More Than a Team Member

Over time, Karen has become known for something even more meaningful than her work ethic.

She’s known for her kindness.

Described as “the kindest, sweetest person you will ever meet,” Karen brings a level of care and positivity that impacts both her coworkers and the clients she serves.

She’s always willing to help—whether it’s assisting with day-to-day office needs, supporting her teammates, or making sure clients feel comfortable and taken care of.

The Kind of Person You Want Around

Karen is also someone who brings personality and connection into the workplace.

A huge fan of the show Friends, it’s fitting—because that’s exactly what she is to the people around her: a great friend.

Of course, being the only Auburn fan in the office means she gets her fair share of jokes—but she takes it all in stride, always a good sport and quick to laugh along with the team.
