Attorney Spotlight: Attorney Amy K. Tanner

Tanner, a Huntsville bankruptcy attorney who has been helping individuals and families in North Alabama find debt relief and a fresh financial start for over 25 years.

Amy’s path to becoming a lawyer reflects the determination she brings to her clients today. After earning her Criminal Justice degree from Auburn University at Montgomery in 1994, she worked while attending the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law at night, graduating in December 1998. She passed the bar the following April and joined Bond & Botes, where she has built her career helping people overcome financial hardship.

Amy focuses on Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases, helping clients stop creditor harassment, prevent foreclosure, protect wages, and eliminate overwhelming debt. Her straightforward and compassionate approach takes the stress out of the process, giving clients the understanding and confidence they need to move forward.

Clients consistently praise Amy for her ability to listen, explain complex legal issues in plain terms, and provide steady support during difficult times. Many leave her office feeling hopeful and reassured—relief that is hard to find when facing serious financial struggles.

Amy is admitted to practice in the Northern and Middle Districts of Alabama, as well as before the United States Tax Court. She is also a longtime member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA) and has previously served as the Alabama State Chair for NACBA, as well as chairing the Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Section of the Alabama State Bar.

Outside the office, Amy enjoys time with her family and giving back to her community. She is also a fitness instructor and enjoys running marathons and competing in triathlons.
