If you’ve recently received a notice that one of your credit card accounts has been closed by the issuer, or that your credit limit has been cut, your first instinct may be to wonder what you did wrong. Usually, accounts are limited or closed when the credit accounts are significantly past due, or when the cardholder’s credit history has taken a negative turn. 

Currently, we are not living in usual times. 

When you’re in need of a medium-ticket item like an appliance or a new couch and can’t afford to buy it outright, rent-to-own might look like the perfect solution. On the surface, it looks a lot like buying the item on credit, but it’s much more accessible to people who might not qualify for conventional financing. That’s why rent-to-own services often appeal to people with lower incomes and not-so-great credit histories.

The threat of losing your home can be overwhelming, and sometimes that makes it hard to think clearly and strategically. Many Mississippi homeowners are currently facing that stress. According to ATTOMData, foreclosures have fallen nationwide--from more than 1.6 million in the first half of 2010 to fewer than 300,000 in the first half of 2019. But, closer to home, the news isn’t so good.
