The Gadsden office of Bond, Botes & Handy, PC is located at 219 South Street, just a couple blocks over from Broad Street, a part of the charming and historic downtown of Gadsden in Etowah County. We are right across the street from Target Auctions and Telesystems and right next door to a vacant building space. There is free street parking, as available, in the front of our building and free parking in the back.  The entrance to the back parking lot is a driveway located at the end of our building.

Carla M. Handy is an attorney practicing Consumer Bankruptcy Law in the Gadsden area since 1994 and is a shareholder in Bond, Botes & Handy, P.C. in Gadsden, Alabama. She holds a B.A. degree from Auburn University and received her Juris Doctorate degree from The University of Alabama. Carla previously served on the Executive Committee for the Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Section of the Alabama State Bar for five years. She is a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA) and her local bar association. Carla has years of experience representing clients in consumer Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases but also in bankruptcy cases filed under Chapter 12 for family farmers.

Blanca Freeman - Office Manager

Blanca Freeman is a native of Mexico City and is fluent in both English and Spanish. She grew up in Southern California before relocating to Alabama. She has a J.D. from Birmingham School of Law and worked in State prosecution as a paralegal and trial technician in providing assistance to limited English speaking victims and witnesses of crimes by working alongside prosecutors in many state-level criminal trials and has been recognized by the Alabama Courts system as a witness expert in the field of forensic transcript translation. Mrs. Freeman is now the Office Manager at the Bond, Botes and Handy office in Gadsden, Alabama.

Justin Pickle - Intake Specialist

Justin was born and raised in Rainbow City, Alabama. After graduating from Southside High School in 1998, he moved to Murfreesboro, Tennessee where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Music from Middle Tennessee State University in 2004. During this time, he met his wife Cindy.  Both he and Cindy make an incredible team at the Gadsden office. Justin’s extensive background in customer service is an added bonus when assisting our clients over the phone or in person. Justin and Cindy recently relocated from Tennessee back to Rainbow City to be closer to family.

Cindy Pickle - Administrative Assistant

Cindy graduated from Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN with a Bachelor of Science in Management in 2003. She has an extensive background in Human Resources Management and Benefits Administration within the Telecommunications and Manufacturing Industries. She obtained her PHR Certification in 2013. Cindy and her husband, Justin, reside in Rainbow City with their two wonderful children in addition to their two dogs, cat and turtle.

Driving Directions to Bond, Botes & Handy, P.C.

From Marshall County

Take U.S. Hwy 431 all the way into Gadsden. Two blocks before you reach the river bridge you will see Peoples Bank on your right.  Turn right at Peoples Bank onto 4th Street.  Continue up 4th Street through three red lights. Once you go through the third red light, which is Chestnut Street (there is a Firestone Tire on the corner), our building is midway down the block on the right. There is free street parking, as available, in the front of our building and free parking in the back.  The entrance to the back parking lot is a driveway at the end of the building.  Our building is a beige stucco and the number 219 is on our window.

From Cherokee County

Take U.S. Hwy 411 South all the way into Gadsden.  At the intersection of U.S. Hwy 411 and U.S. Hwy 431 (before you travel under the Meighan Bridge), exit to the right on the ramp to U.S. Hwy 431.  As you merge onto U.S. Hwy 431, you will need to get into the left lane as soon as possible.  At the second red light, you will need to turn left.  This is 4th Street.  Continue up 4th Street through three red lights. Once you go through the third red light, which is Chestnut Street, our building is midway down the block on the right. There is free street parking, as available, in the front of our building and free parking in the back.  The entrance to the back parking lot is a driveway at the end of the building.  Our building is a beige stucco and the number 219 is on our window.

From DeKalb County

Take I-59 South all the way to the first Attalla/Gadsden exit which will be for U.S. Hwy 431 (Meighan Blvd.).  Continue east on U.S. Hwy 431/Meighan Blvd. all the way into Gadsden.  Two blocks before you reach the river bridge and just past Generations Bank, turn right onto 4th Street.  Continue up 4th Street through three red lights. Once you go through the third red light, which is Chestnut Street, our building is midway down the block on the right. There is free street parking, as available, in the front of our building and free parking in the back.  The entrance to the back parking lot is a driveway at the end of the building.  Our building is a beige stucco and the number 219 is on our window.

From Calhoun County

Take U.S. Hwy 431 through East Gadsden and over the river bridge.  Once over the bridge, you will need to get into the left lane as soon as possible.  At the second red light, you will need to turn left.  This is 4th Street.  Continue up 4th Street through three red lights. Once you go through the third red light, which is Chestnut Street, our building is midway down the block on the right.
