Bradford W. Botes and Ronald C. Sykstus Recognized by Super Lawyers as Top Attorneys

Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers Magazine annually publishes a list of the top attorneys in Alabama. Super Lawyers rates outstanding attorneys from seventy or more practice areas based on peer recognition and professional achievement. The selection process is multi-phased and the lawyers are chosen by considering a combination of peer nominations, independent research, and peer examinations.

Mid-South 2018 Top Attorneys by Super Lawyers

I am pleased to announce that two of my fabulous partners were recently recognized by Super Lawyers as top attorneys in the Mid- South 2018 edition of the publication. Brad and Ron are both recognized for their work in consumer bankruptcy. Ron is also recognized for his work in Military/Veterans Law and Consumer Law.

I am proud of both of them for not only this achievement but the way they lead our firm each and every day. Brad is one of the founding members of the Bond and Botes firm. Originally from Chicago, it was sheer coincidence that Brad met Ron, another native Chicagoan, a few years after beginning his law practice here in Alabama.

Brad and Ron are both great leaders and role models for all of us and together we have built a successful and reputable law practice. We may not all be recognized by Super Lawyers, but I will say all of my partners and associates are experienced and compassionate lawyers, who treat our clients with respect and work hard as advocates for all of our clients.

More About Brad Botes

Brad is a principal of each of the Bond & Botes law offices located in Alabama and Mississippi. He is licensed to practice law in Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Illinois. Brad is also admitted to practice before various United States District Courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.

A member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA) since its inception, Brad has served as a member of its Board of Directors and as its first full-time Executive Director. In May of 2003, NACBA named him as a Champion of the Order of Protectors of Consumer Debtors. He has lectured on various bankruptcy topics to local and national gatherings of bankruptcy attorneys, trustees and judges.

Brad was previously recognized as a Mid-South Super Lawyer, a Best Lawyer in America and a Birmingham “Top Lawyer” by B Metro magazine. He is Board Certified in Consumer Bankruptcy Law by the American Board of Certification.

More About Ron Sykstus

Ron is Board Certified in Consumer Bankruptcy Law by the American Board of Certification. He is admitted to practice law in Alabama, Illinois, Tennessee, Washington, D.C., the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims and the U.S. Tax Court. He came to Huntsville to begin practice with Bond and Botes in the early 90’s following his service in the United States Army.

Ron was an active duty Captain and served in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps as a trial lawyer. He received two Meritorious Service Medals during his time in the Army. His prior service to his country has fueled his interest in the areas of military law, security clearance revocation defense and veterans claims.

He makes regular appearances in security clearance hearings and in the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims helping those who served our country receive the benefits that they earned and deserve. Family Men Through and Through

In addition to being great lawyers and business leaders, both Ron and Brad have set good examples of how to be devoted husbands and fathers. Brad and his wife Kaye have raised three wonderful children, 2 sons and a daughter who are now becoming leaders in their own communities. Ron and his wife Patty have raised 3 sons. All 3 have attended the University of Alabama and are furthering the education in fields devoted to helping others.

Brad and Ron also know how to be great friends. I am very lucky not only to have them as law partners but also have them as friends. I once told another lawyer that I been with the same firm for almost 20 years, they were a bit shocked and said that some statistic or other says that a lawyer will work at an average of four firms in their career. Well, I got lucky and found the right people to spend my whole career with these guys and all the other wonderful lawyers you will find at our firm.
