Don’t Forget ‘Tis the Season

Nick-GajewskiI realize, as a bankruptcy attorney, it may seem a little strange for me to urge our readers to just forget their money problems, but that’s exactly what I’m suggesting in this Blog post.  The Christmas Season is a time for family, togetherness, and happiness.  Don’t let yourself be weighed down by thoughts of bills and debt collectors.  Take a few days of vacation from the stress and the worry to just focus on what matters most to you during the Holidays.

All too often we see the strain that is put on families by financial problems, and being able to solve those problems and help people find peace and happiness again is one of the biggest highlights of my job.  I look forward to being able to help many more people in 2017.  But if you’ve spent the last 355 days worrying about your financial well-being, then why not take the next few days off?

In many cases, creditors will say or do whatever they need to in order to make you believe that immediately making a payment to them is absolutely necessary.  This is rarely true.  If you are to the point where you’re dealing with collection calls on a regular basis, then a few more days won’t have any significant effect on your credit standing.  Obviously it is important to keep up with things like your car payment or your mortgage. But if you’re stressing about a credit card you have been late on for several months already, then I feel confident saying your time would be better spent eating dinner and watching Christmas movies with the family.

Our offices will still be here the week after Christmas and we’d love to see you for a free initial consultation.  We have offices in Alabama and Mississippi with experienced attorneys who can help you find your way back to financial stability.  So this weekend why not put the phone on silent, and focus instead on family, friends, and all the best parts of the Holiday season?

From all of us in the Bond & Botes family, we wish you the Happiest of Holidays!
